The Cassette Shirts

A sold out range of four limited edition Fred Perry Shirts reworked with Panter’s original artworks.

Each artwork reproduced into a patch and sewn onto the right sleeve of the classic Fred Perry Shirt. Panter’s work is based on traditional forms of iconography infused with a Pop Art sensibility with influences drawn from artists such as Peter Blake, Kenneth Noland and Wayne Thiebaud.

 Each of the selected Cassette artworks addresses the themes of youth tribes, music culture and pays homage to iconic ska, punk and rock bands of the century from the likes of The Specials, The Jam, Madness and Nirvana. The shirt is authenticated wit

Each of the selected Cassette artworks addresses the themes of youth tribes, music culture and pays homage to iconic ska, punk and rock bands of the century from the likes of The Specials, The Jam, Madness and Nirvana. The shirt is authenticated with Horace Panter’s signature on the bottom hem and complete with a collection-specific swing tag featuring excerpt of lyrics from each song. Song titles include ‘Ghost Town’, ‘One Step Beyond’, ‘In The City’ and ‘Teen Spirit’.

Two Sides to Horace Panter

Worked together with Horace and his wife, Clare, on curating a retrospective exhibition of Panter, titled ‘Two Sides to Horace Panter’ - a series of intimate shots, charting Panter’s art and music processes behind the scenes, of him as an artist and as a musician.

Affectionately known as Sir Horace Gentleman by fellow members of The Specials, Panter is dual artist who divides his time between his art practice and bassist of the pioneering two-tone British band, The Specials.
